英文可數與不可數名詞：many、much 和量詞怎麼選
英文量詞要先配合名詞型態。可數名詞能以一個、兩個計數，常有單複數；不可數名詞通常不直接接數字，也不加複數 -s。初學者可先判斷後面的名詞是單數可數、複數可數，還是不可數，再決定冠詞與量詞。
三種名詞形式

不可數名詞也能計量，但通常要加單位或容器：a glass of water、two pieces of advice、three items of furniture。因此說 some advice，不要寫成 an advice；若要數建議的條數，可說 two pieces of advice。
many 和 much
- many + 複數可數名詞：many books、many questions、How many people came?
- much + 不可數名詞：much time、much information、How much water do we need?
- a lot of / lots of + 複數可數或不可數名詞：a lot of books、a lot of time。
肯定句日常口語中，a lot of 常比 much 自然，例如 We have a lot of time.；否定句和問句則常見 much 與 many：I don’t have much time. / Are there many seats?。語體和語境會影響自然程度，正式文字也可能出現肯定句 much/many。
a few 和 a little：都有「一些」，但名詞不同

a few / a little 強調「有一些」，去掉 a 後的 few / little 常表示數量少到不足。若只想中性表示數量，不確定語氣時可用 some，再依文意補清楚。
常見錯誤與修正
- many information → a lot of information 或 much information（information 不可數）。
- an advice → some advice 或 a piece of advice。
- three furnitures → three pieces/items of furniture（furniture 不可數）。
- much apples → many apples（apples 是複數可數）。
- a water → 通常說 some water；若點一杯水，可說 a glass of water。部分餐飲語境可把 water 當一份飲品，但那是省略容器或份數的用法。
一些名詞可數與不可數兩用，但意思會變。例如 chicken 可指雞肉（不可數）或一隻雞（可數）；paper 可指紙材（不可數）或論文／報紙（依語境可數）。遇到新詞時，一起記名詞在例句中的用法，不要只背單字中文翻譯。
練習：選適當形式
- How (many / much) emails did you get?
- We need (a few / a little) milk for the recipe.
- Could you give me (an advice / a piece of advice)?
- There aren’t (much / many) chairs in the room.
- Add (a few / a little) sugar, then taste it.
答案：1. many；2. a little；3. a piece of advice；4. many；5. a little。
